Marjorie was one of the first rescued goldens helped by the Cultivating Change program. As her treatment for blastomycosis progressed, she began showing a number of nuisance behaviors including aggressive attention seeking, repetitive digging and window barking. After several months of consistent positive-reinforcement training, Marjorie stopped digging and window barking and learned to amuse herself with toys and treats instead of constantly seeking attention.
Ten year-old Wrigley was diagnosed with claustrophobia and noise anxiety due to a very rough first few years of her life. A new medication was prescribed to help reduce her fear, anxiety and stress during car rides and thunderstorms. This relatively inexpensive medication made a world of difference with the first application in Wrigley's response to loud noises. She also began to learn that riding in a car can be fun!
