  • Participants may be accompanied by a maximum of two leashed dogs.
  • All dogs must be leashed and in your control at all times. Leashes should be no longer than six feet. 
  • NO retractable leashes.
  • Please stay to the right side of the path. The walking trail will be marked and assistance stations will be available along the way.
  • Dogs who are social and enjoy being around other dogs and people are welcome! Please do not bring your dog if it can become aggressive towards other dogs or people. Dogs will need to be comfortable in close quarters with other dogs and people without becoming defensively reactive. Please respect your dog’s need for personal space & that of other dogs.
  • All dogs must be current with distemper (DHPP) and rabies vaccinations.
  • Walkers are required to pick up after their dog. There will some bags along the way, but please bring your own.
  • Dogs in heat are not permitted.
  • Children are welcome and must be in the presence of their parents/guardians at all times. Children should ask to pet dogs which they don’t know.
  • Bikes, skateboards, scooters, roller blades, etc., will not be permitted for safety reasons.
  • Baby and doggy strollers are welcome.

As Good as Gold – Golden Retriever Rescue of Illinois is dedicated to the rescue, care and adoption of Golden Retrievers and golden mixes who are in need. In addition, As Good as Gold educates Golden Retriever guardians and the general public about the importance of spaying/neutering, positive training methods, diet and exercise, appropriate medical treatment and humane care.
